Extra Condensed No. 2

Hot on the heels of Extra Condensed No.1, issue two of Extra Condensed has a particularly numerical theme: from the origins of the idiom ‘spitting image’ to a specimen of Stephenson Blake’s charming Condensed Sans Serif No.7, via a wander through the very particular world of letter frequency and the numbers behind the printing of Extra Condensed No.1.

It is, once again, a celebration of traditional letterpress typography and the original typefaces we hold at the press. Every article also features its own pilcrow, or paragraph symbol, each taken from a different fount in our collection.

Written, designed, typeset and printed by hand in a limited edition of just 200 (although this still involves over 2,250 hand pulled prints). Each issue is individually numbered and comes in a custom printed envelope.
